THE HOUSE

A private house, entirely for your group.

Chronos House is a private whole-house stay in a residential neighborhood of Kita-Senju, Tokyo, reserved for one group per day.
Set in a house built around 50 years ago, it has been updated with the practical comforts needed for a modern stay while retaining traces of the time that has accumulated within it.
We value giving guests time to stay at their own pace, without being driven by a schedule.

ONE GROUP PER DAY

The whole house is yours throughout your stay.

The house key with a wooden tag

Only one group stays in the house each day.
No spaces are shared with other guests.
From getting ready in the morning to resting at night, the entire house is yours to use at your own pace.
During your stay, the time of the house belongs to the people staying here.

A HOUSE WITH HISTORY

Old and new, kept together.

We retained the original timber frame and fittings while adding the functions needed for a comfortable stay.
This was not done to display the age of the house, but to keep it in use for years to come.
Newly updated spaces and places shaped by a long passage of time now coexist within one house.

TIME AT THE CENTER

Four eras within one house.

Within the house are four spaces that evoke the Edo, Taisho, Showa, and Reiwa eras.
They are not exhibits that recreate each period.
As you move from room to room, the light, the height of your gaze, and the way you spend time change little by little.
Following those differences is part of the time spent in this house.

IN KITA-SENJU

Within the everyday life of Kitasenju.

The house is beyond the bustle around the station, through the shopping street and into a narrow residential lane.
Here, people go about their everyday lives.
Beyond the four layers of time inside, the streets outside carry time that has also accumulated over many years.
Chronos House is simply one house within that everyday neighborhood.
